The key to a healthy, natural smile is consistent dental hygiene. While it's crucial to care for your dental hygiene at home, a combination of at-home care and regular hygiene visits will give you a healthier and brighter smile.
We believe in working with our patients to bring them the best results possible, so we offer oral hygiene visits to give your teeth a good cleaning and prevent decay and disease before they occur or spread.
Our dental hygiene visits are there to prevent dental disease and to maintain any dentistry done.
The purpose of a professional clean is to remove any build-up on the teeth and gums. This build-up, also known as plaque or tartar, results from poor dental hygiene and an unhealthy diet. Our dental hygienists may ask you several questions about your diet and hygiene practices to determine if there is an underlying cause.
During the dental hygiene visit, the hygienist will remove the build-up using a scale and polish method to ensure that bacteria is removed from the gums and between the teeth. The cleaning is finished with a fluoride treatment left on the teeth. Fluoride is a naturally-occurring mineral that helps strengthen the tooth's enamel and prevent tooth decay and disease.
We also use Guided Biofilm Therapy in our hygiene department, which is the systematic, predictable solution for dental biofilm management in professional hygiene sessions. The treatment is given in the least invasive way, with the highest level of comfort, safety and efficiency by using AIRFLOW®.
Regular dental hygiene visits are crucial to maintaining preventative care. Not only is it essential to keep your teeth and gums healthy, but consistent dental hygiene can prevent decay and disease that cause pain, bad breath, and difficulty eating and speaking. Poor dental health can also impact your overall health and cause diabetes, chronic inflammation and heart issues.
We advise a dental hygiene appointment every 4 months for our patients.
